This and that
We also discussed about girls night too. I find it cool that my flatmates are quite into spending time with each other.
Singstar, karaoke night, dinner together, etc...We got so excited when we were listing out of what to do. Hehehe..
We even went to Ancestral for dinner together on Wednesday night.
I can say that my new flatmates are very lively and attentive to each other. I like that. =)
Hmm.. yea, that's about what have been happening in the flats so far.
Talking about these, I am not abandoning my other friends. It doesn't mean I don't stay with them or in the same course, I won't hang out with them. They are just busy with moving and I am currently working. Plus, we are all starting the new semester of studying.
I haven't unpack everything yet. It's slowly getting on. I already took out my speakers and am arranging my desk. I have yet to move the boxes away to make some space in the room. At the moment, my room looks like it is small.
Ok, I think this is random talking about flatmates. But it's just the beginning of the semester so I tend to have lots to say.
I actually have a lot to blog about but the moment I sit in front of the laptop, I totally forgot.
Mian.. I feel like I have so much to do and I don't have enough time for myself. Am I overdo-ing myself? But this is just first week. All this stuff-to-do are going to be over by end of next week.
Check out the tv stand. =) Last year, my flatmate and I have a television but we never got ourselves a tv stand for it. Maybe now it is the time to get one.

Looking on
In late June, I flew back to KL to meet her. Flight was actually to Brunei but since I missed the domestic flight, I had to redirect my flight to KL. It was fun in KL when she also came up from Miri. Another cousin also joined us.

We even went out movi-ing together. On the weekend, the other cousin came to see me. Aww.. so sweet of him. All the way from PutraJaya. I am craving for peanut butter.. what is it again? I forgot..

Allyz was in NZ for 2 months and she was due to fly end of July. It was fun to hang out with her. I am glad to meet her. =)

After having so much fun with going out as a big group and farewell dinner for Allyz, we sent her to the airport.

Two weeks after that, my family came to Christchurch. I shall elaborate more on the next post.

Discussion
On the previous post of 'Quoting', the quoting comes from a girl in love point of view. The comment comes from other point of view/thoughts. Don't get me wrong. I don't want anyone to think that I am criticizing them or say they are wrong. No one is right or wrong. All of us just think differently. We can try to understand each other. Anyhow, here are my thoughts after hearing from both of them.
If you choose not to understand the quoting, that's your problem, but don't complain. If you choose to understand, thank you. I admit that I did choose not to understand before and I apologized to the person for behaving that way. I cannot tell how ashamed I was when I admit my mistake.
sometimes, the cause of a failing relationship is because the couple spends too much time together..there is a risk of the relationship getting mundane, and perhaps even you losing some friendships.. if you spend all your time with ur bf, in some ways, you’re decreasing your social circle..and sometimes, that decision has certain implications..especially towards other friendships..
also, why must “the break” come only in marriages? why cant it happen during the courtship/dating period? doesn’t that strengthen the relationship in a way, and help you see the relationship more objectively and less impulsively?
lets say a friend invites you for a movie, and so does your boyfriend, and they both want to watch different movies but at the same time..and you have to choose either one..
who would you prioritise? who would you choose?
tricky eh..hehe..
just my thoughts!
sorry for the long comment.. ;p
I have to agree with her on this. She does have a point. I can’t ignore that. That is why; we have to be wise in choosing our decisions. What I say is, don’t just ignore your friends entirely. It’s not just from this person’s part as well. I think the friends have to understand and help out as much as they can in the friendships’ love way. I sound so cheesy when it comes to this. I guess why that is why no one takes me seriously.

Quoting
And do you notice that when couples are dating, they spend all their time together, but when they get married, they MAKE time for their friends? It's like, the normal cycle of life. It happens to almost everyone. You need a break. But when you're mabuk cinta, it's different. You just want to be with that person every second of the day. Not to say that married people cannot be mabuk cinta, but you're secure, and you know you're coming back home to him, and he is coming back home to you. That's the difference.
I already ask this friend's permission if I can publish what she said. I don't think I could ever explain like this to anyone.

miss
I love the bass system. =)
The sound apparently only come out on the right side of the sides speaker. Well, it's not the speakers' fault, the right side of the laptop does not work well. It's ok as long as the sound comes out right and the bass system working alright. Em said my bass is very loud. Hehe.. Oh yea, Em and I have a new flatmate, he introduced himself last night when Em, Cal and I were watching tv in the living room.

=)
Darling bought me this teddy bear. So cute.. :P
This was taken during the fireworks 2 weeks ago. Darling was trying to make firework 'bomb'. =P
I think I have space to put in the ps2 so I guess, sherp and veep don't have to worry about me not bringing them over. It's just that I think the fragile things will knock each other. Know what, PS3 are getting cheaper. Maybe we can buy them in 2 years time? =P

Houses
I also wanted to comment on friendship. I think it is hard to keep a good friendship. You always think what you can do for the best but it always ended up in you being hurt. Sigh.. I have this friend whom I thought is really smart in looking out but now, I don't think so. Sigh.. what can we do? After all, we are humans and we are bound to make mistakes.
Let you see nice scenery from the observatory area in Lake Tekapo. It's nice right?

Multi-tasking
This is not a sudden burst of posts. It's just that I blog at different times, eg morning, afternoon and night. You know like, you feel the urge to blog in the morning, then after you finished classes for the day, you feel the urge to blog again.
Anyways, my title says it all. I am currently multi-tasking. Blogging and reading my notes at the same time.
I think my photos are all 'cacat-ed'. Some are left on the left side, middle or the right side. Ahh.. don't care. Anyway, the photo above was taken during one of ICF social nights. It's making me hungry now. I better cook lunch for myself.
This was the Pavlova that Renee made. It was really nice.
Oh yea, I wanted to share something humourous. My friends and I were chatting one night. We were talking about relationships and Sharz asked me when did I had my first bf, I answered first year. Cal commented that I am a late bloomer. So Em commented back, 'so what am I? A senior bloomer?' (she hasn't been in a bf/gf relationship) It's just so funny that she thought she is a senior bloomer. Don't worry, I already asked her if I can put it in blog.
Side note: New diet pills?

Thumbs up? or down?

Guess I couldn't stop laughing. When I got my hands on that big thumbs up hand, I would tell people good job on things. Actually I wasn't saying good job, I was saying bad job. Oops, hehe..

Jon decided to say that to people.

This was my group, Em was the group leader. I can't remember what we won but we did win for the best drama performed. Em won the best supporting actress. She can go to Hollywood now. Hahaha...

Look at that Jon, bullying me. He knew I wasn't tall enough to reach so he purposely did that. I did get the thumbs up thing back in the end. Guess he is soft-hearted to give me back. Muahaha...

Define
I have the idea of a friend go behind another friend back to steal boyfriend. Or it could be doing something bad, as in something embarrassing and of bad rumours, not about bitching but I mean, rumours of you stealing a guy or something like that.
So what is your opinions?

Oops
- Friends should support each other. This doesn't mean that Friend A should ditch Friend B for Friend C. I mean, if Friend C did not do anything to Friend A, why should Friend A ditch Friend C.
- Listen to friends. LISTEN. It is best to listen to positive feedback and ignore if it is negative feedback.
- Friendships are very important and they are always by your side. So we should appreciate them. What happens if you got no friends at all?
From what I have said so far, I know it is hard to fulfill them so we should always forgive our friends if they did something wrong or bad. Who is perfect anyway? You are not, I am not, your friends are not.
What I mean
- sacrificial love
From 1 Samuel in the Bible, it is the friendship from Jonathan and David. Jonathan's dad tried to kill David and Jonathan was almost killed because he was protecting David from his father.
I was thinking, in this kind of world now, no one would do that kind of thing because it is not the norm. People would think you are crazy and start thinking if gay or lesbian. *shakes head* Such a world.
From my point of view, friendships nowadays are just friends hanging out and helping each other out. I bet there is no such thing as sacrificial love between friends. I mean, if I ask you to die for your friend or friends, would you want to do that?
On this, I still want to comment about what I wrote. A friend disagrees with what I said. Well, what I meant was that some people take their friend for granted, which is why I said friendships nowadays are just friends hanging out and helping each other. You can never know if this friend is truly your friend. What happens when he or she turns out to be different, as in not whom you used to know.

On friendship
I am going to summarize what I hear and learnt from friendship from church camp and reading relationship book on friendship. First of all, there is this model of friendship list.
- mutual commitment
I think this is common. Friends do commit to each other.
- openness and honesty
Honesty is a hallmark of real friendship. Friends do not pretend about themselves or others do not desire or need to cover up their struggles or failings. -Nigel D. Polluck-
You do have to be open and honest to your friends. If you are not sure if you can trust the friends you are with, don't open too much. But be honest because they won't like you and you can lose their trust in you if you happen to lie or do something bad to them or even one of them.
- service
Service? What do you mean by that? Well, I think it is more like you do things for your friends. I do believe that. Now compare with what you usually do for your siblings or parents. I think it is similar.
There are ways to show your love for your family and friends. You help them out on things, eg buying things for them or just helping out on chores. Anyway, my point is that if you yell at your siblings or parents or disobey them, that doesn't mean you don't love your family or siblings. =)
- God - centreness
- interdependence
Friendship is not about making people dependent upon us or about us becoming dependent on other people.
True friendship can only develop and grow when we work together, trust each other, help each other and rely on each other.
With true friends pointing out your weakness or something bad, I don't think you should keep it at heart and decide that he or she is not a good friend. Instead, you should look at yourself first and try to undo your weakness. Yes, you are not perfect and your friends are not perfect but it would help to study yourself first before start blaming on friends. Not all friends give good advice but some particularly do. Some friends are there to listen to you and give you a long big hug when you are down.
I do admit that I don't like my friends to see me crying if there is anything so I tend to go away or be quiet if I see my friends crying. So don't take it to heart, thinking that your friends desert you when you need someone to talk while you're crying.
- willing to let go
Friendship is so important and sometimes there are things that we need to let go in order to let the friendship to last. 1 Samuel 20:42 shows that.
Am I being too straight-forward? Hmm.. this is just my point of view. I will let you have your opinions, I won't judge or be defensive. I am beginning to refer to Bible verses a lot. =)
This is from church camp talks and I summarized it up. Some may be the same from what I said above.
- Friends do point out your mistakes or your differences. But how do you feel from it? Embarrassed or anger? If embarrassed, would you rather strangers telling you those or your friends? If anger, study yourself first before you start blaming your friends. Humans aren't perfect so your friends are there to tell you your differences. Again, would you rather strangers telling you?
I think I prefer my friends to tell me. I rather them laughing at me than strangers or friends whom I don't normally talk to.
- Friends don't just give advices or comfort you, they go through each step with you. They are there to guide you so don't keep them away. Remember that some friends deal with their problems better than you.

Belated April Fool
My flatmate tried April Fool twice on me. First was she said something was on my face, I rubbed my face few times before she said sheepishly April Fool. The other one was she said she has a date. I believed it when she said it. She told me on msn and got another friend to play along. Man.. I feel so embarrassed after they told me April Fool. Sigh..
