Soft fluffy

I had that area rug at home. The one at home is really nice and fluffy. I like to sit on it because it's soft so that means that it is expensive. I actually wanted one to put at darling's place in the living room but since it's expensive, let's forget about it. Maybe should just get a cheaper one just to cover the middle of living room floor.

I have a random thing to say: I think I watched NCIS too much that I think my lecturer looks like the main actor. Both are tall, not wearing glasses and have grey hair. Hehehe.. the weather is miserable today. It's going to be cold tomorrow and I am going to get cold and wet from the field trip. I better not get sick from this cold. I will  be starting my report on my field trip tomorrow evening. Oh but I do get to choose to report one field trip, either tomorrow or next week field trip. And I feel so tired in the morning, sleepy whenever I am in lecture. I need caffeine. I also just realise that it's October tomorrow. Finals are catching up fast. The year is ending too.

Lights

Well... thought that the solar light looks cool so using come coupons, we got them and plant them around the house. I expected the lights to be quite bright but it turn out to be like that below in the pic. I was like, cheh.. it looks like glow in the dark only. You see, I have difficulties in seeing things in the dark. When I was at home, my sisters are great in seeing things in the dark and they won't bump into something whereas I do. Hmm.. that's why I keep injuring myself. I find that I am better at listening at sounds though. Hmm.. what does that tell me?

The first week of break is over. Here comes the second week. Actually, now is a perfect time to go on vacation since I have got 2 weeks break. But I decided not to. It's the mid-semester break and surely I have homework to do. Not assignments but how about revising for lab test and start preparing for finals. Here I go again. I feel that I should start on revising for finals even though I still got a lot of time later to study. Well, a friend has told me that I shouldn't slack just because it's my final semester. I should keep up the work and don't think about how it is my final and all that. I guess I can think about going for orlando vacations after I really finish everything. =P

New

The new vacuum cleaner is really good. It's still new so of course it will still be doing its job. Right.. now I got something to rant about. I feel stress about my studies. I went through my notes and then over the exam questions and realise that I do not know how to start on writing down bullet points for them. It's not even exams yet. The break hasn't even come up yet and I am stressing. Knowing myself, I always feel like that. Like always wanting to get things done quickly and faster. Sigh..

Half full

A little sneak peak at the renovations of the house. Well, it's for those who are not in NZ and can't see. =) Almost everyone who has seen the bathroom and toilet likes it. It's good to hear that.

The lights were also changed to look 'modernise'. I am probably slacking now. I thought of going through 3 weeks of notes before the end of the term and I haven't even started. Proscastinating with blogging. It's early I know. You know me. Even she does that as well. I guess it runs in the family. I am not sure if both sis of  mine are also like that. I haven't seen them acting like me or even mentioned like she did.

I guess I can be quite demanding and stubborn when I want to do it my own way. Hehe.. who doesn't. Cleaning and unpacking are not done. It does take long but what to do. It's not like everyday they have the time to do everyday. One is working and one is studying. Try working the whole day and come back unpacking. You will be doing the same thing, as in delaying it till weekend. Believe me, I have helped so much. Thanks to one of my flatmate for helping too. Those who like to help are very welcome to help too.

Filling

Renovations were done to the house for almost a month. The photos were taken after new carpets were put on. It's supposed to be dark blue to light greyish colour. I think the colour fits in with the white wall. Not the doors though. Maybe we want to change the doors as well. What colours do you think the doors should be? I was thinking white creamy colour. It looks a little dull though but suggestions. What colours? Oh yea, apparently the old carpet has some bugs inside. Lucky we decided to change it. The carpet team person told us that we should vacuum at least once per week just so that all the bugs are gone.

All the cleaning made me exercise actually. Hehehe.. then I don't really need noxycut to slim down. Oh oh.. when I weighed myself during the little breaks, I lost 1kg. Hmm.. must be the hard work. Muahaha.. I also walked to uni back and forth a lot. Must be from the exercise walk too. I also tried not to eat snacks too much. Hehe.. eat the main 3 meals per day is enough. =)

Hotel bed?

Does it not look like a hotel bed? Hehehe.. the colour of the duvet and the bed sheets matches. Hence why I said hotel bed.

I think I might have mentioned that the most important thing has been done. Get the living room and beds ready. The kitchen isn't ready yet. So far, cooking can't be done yet. The unpacking of clothes is starting this weekend. The kitchen stuff as well, boxes are still in garage. It's hard to open the garage because I am not tall enough to push it up. Basically you need 2 people to open and close unless you are more than 1.8m tall. Then it's no problem.

Hmm.. so maybe if I do all these packing things, I should be quite fit? Hehehe.. I mean, it is a lot of work to do. So I don't need best diet pills to help lose weight? =P Hehe..

Renovation

The renovations are in the process. =) It's going to be done soon. Look how nice looking it is. The wall are tiled in white tiles and the floor are tiled in creamy tiles. I think the bathroom is going to look quite white. Hehehe.. maybe I should have chosen darker tiles for the floor.

Oh, people may not know something about me, that is I am quite into saving energy, energy like renewable resources or recyclable things. Darling found this news about converting onion juice into electrical energy. It's so cool. It would be so good for the coming future. Then, they don't have to use so much of coal or petroleum, I mean those are non-renewable resources. I would tend to switch off lights or even the heaters if I find the room temperature too hot. Okay, maybe that is called not wasting electricity. Hehe.. but still it's still energy. :P

I started drinking tea again. No, I am not that stress. It's just that tea can clean the toxic in my body so I am drinking it. It's most likely once a week for now. Maybe when I feel more stress, I will be drinking everyday. So you know moving either from house to house or flat to flat, you think renting trailer or get moving company to do heavy lifting job, which is better? I don't mind using trailer if there is no big furniture involved. I don't think I am strong enough to carry the bigger furniture. Oh oh but I like to be the one ordering though. Hehehe.. it sounds fun. =P So if I wanted to rent trailer, I should probably check out extended service plan. They even have free quote to get coverage from trailer to vehicles. =) Come to think about it, I might even need it when I am moving my stuff myself.

I also returned textbooks that I borrowed from library for study last week, pay accommodation. What else? Oh I also cook something for dinner. I felt that I have accomplished a lot too. Let's see what I have done for second day.

I did laundry again on second day and changing bedsheets and pillow cases. I researched driving schools too since I have nothing much to do during this holidays. Oh, I watched this programme, 60 minutes about a woman who slashed her groceries bill from $300 sth to under $100 per week. That's incredible. Oh she made her own laundry powder. I know it's not too expensive but I like to try to make some too. It would be an experience. Nothing much to for the rest of the day since I have to go check out the tiles and confirm bathroom parts for the renovation later. I think I mentioned this on previous post.

I spent some of my time watching air crash investigation series online. Hehe.. I know it's scary to think about it let alone watch but I am very interested to know what went wrong. I mean, there is no such thing as perfect things in the world. Accidents happen, you can only prevent it but when it happens, you can't stop it from happening.

Oh, I have been cooking everyday too. It's not too bad, I guess. Why did I complain about cooking everyday? Hmm.. oh it's the headache of thinking what to eat or somehow cook something out of your fridge food. I haven't done that so yea..

Names test and colourful test

Yup, I have been studying all week. It wasn't just about names. Actually, I don't think I needed to memorize the names. I don't think anyone can remember all of the names for the lab test.

Names like Magasella sanguinea, terebratulids, rhynchonellids, orthids, etc.. right, I don't need to name them all for you to know that it is hard to memorize them. Anyway, my point was that we probably need to sketch and know what fossil belongs to its names, label features and whether it lives on sea floor or in the sediments.

This was just another test on Tuesday. Wednesday test was about igneous minerals and metamorphic minerals. This test is about identifying the colours of the minerals and how the textures were developed. I did not do well on the first test and there is a chance that I can improve myself in the second test. If I do well on my second test, they will forget the first test and will base the test on 60%. Yup, my lab tests for this course are each worth 30%. The names test is about 20%.

Now you know why I was stressing so much and did not go to Auckland on the Queen's Birthday weekend. The lab test is BIG, I tell you.

Now let me tell you about porcelain tiles. Actually, darling and I were thinking of putting tiles in the bathroom to make the bathroom looks nice. How about this tile?

It's just first week

Houses..

Before you start choosing for suitable house to stay in, you will surely want to decorate the house, right? Oh wait, this is only when you are buying a brand new house. Oh wait, it doesn't necessary have to be like that. You can change the lightings anytime you want.

Anyway, lightings play a big role in making the house looks nice.



I mean, look at this image. The lightings made the bathroom looks nice, right? But of course, the furniture also plays an important role as well. =) So do check out bathroom lighting, get yourself piped up with information and when you're looking to decorate your house, there you go.

So, anyway, what has been happening these few days? I guess nothing much except planning for food menus. Have to crack the head to think about new menu ideas. I am sure people won't want to eat the same dish once a fortnight or once a week. You will get sick of the dish soon enough.

Modern-nya

I was quietly doing something on the laptop when I heard my dad saying, wah.. this house is so nice. Don't think he is talking to himself since I am in the study room. He was looking at houses on trademe. Yup, some of the houses are nice. I told him some of the house areas that I know is quite good. After finish looking through, I started googling modern house images. These are a few that I found. I don't think I can put everything here. The houses are just too nice. I am so astounded. =)

Hmm.. I would love to stay in a big modern glass house. Hehe *big wide grin* Phew, I spent so much time trying to figure out how to  make the images in the centre. If it doesn't come out properly, I am so going to kill myself. Hehe.. nah, a bit exagerating lah.

Ignorant

I didn't know that the tab thingy in the kitchen or in the bathroom is called Delta faucets. Yea, call me ignorant. I googled it and found about the meaning of ignorant in case I simply call myself ignorant without knowing what the meaning is.

So I do lack of words knowledge. No wonder I couldn't get high score in the word challenge from facebook game. Ishk.. I do read story books to learn more words but I seem to forget about the new words or sentences I learnt after I finish the book. Not very surprising of me for those who knows me well.

Housing area

Seeing the constructions along the roads, I ask what were those constructions for. I was told that there will be more housing residence. The whole area is called Al Waab city so I decided to google about it. I found some nice photos of the new housing area they will be building, villas and apartments. Actually, the house I am staying in now is part of another residence housing area. It's called Nine Pearls and each house are numbered. I should think the security is tight. They checked your ID if they don't recognise you. There are CCTV cameras behind the house I am staying in. Earlier on, I asked my mum how they guarded the other side of the compound. Hehe.. I just wanted a confirmation. These sort of stuff do create jobs for the locals. The construction, security, etc. There are people working in the centre of the compound, providing assistance whenever you need them, be it the not working light bulb, drinking water, etc. There's the clubhouse too, that has gym facilities, swimming pool, spa, etc. So how about the finding jobs in Austin?

Home Part 3

I don't have any more photos of Dubai's new Terminal 3 but I have got other random photos though.

I was really thirsty when I arrived so I walked around looking at the shops and managed to buy a drink for myself. Mango mania. I used pounds to pay for the drink for £3. Not that bad, right? Hehehe.. I thought there would be more seats around in this new terminal but no.. I had to sit on the floor. Sigh.. Even lynnwei also asked if there are more seats, but no...

The flight from Dubai to Doha was short but bumpy ride. I got quite a bad headache from it. However, I tried not to let that headache get to me. I still manage to stay up whole day.

After I arrived, because I brought ps2, Sherp immediately brought upstairs to the living room to start playing. She just can't wait. =P

As I said that I toured the house immediately, I saw that every bathroom has 2 sinks, I commented that there is no need to fight to use the sink in the morning and so everyone must get up at the same time. No excuses. Muahaha..

Home

I am glad to be home. But I am missing my darling. Anyway, time do pass very fast when you are enjoying your time. I checked in quite early and got the my wanted seat. =) Friends came to send me off as well. I almost wanted to cry when they all hugged me. Flight was quite horrible, I almost wanted to vomit because the plane kept on shaking. Sigh..

There's nothing much when I transitted in Sidney. Only bought magazine and texting darling to say that I was already in Sidney. Dubai's new terminal airport was awesome though the structure of building are still the same.

I took some photos of the Terminal 3, I am not sure if they have more shops or not but everything are new with new features too. As for the naming, I was testing out. I finally learn something from Sherp.

I manage to stay awake till after dinner. And that is like between 3 to 6 hours of sleep in 2 days. I can't believe I can do that. I always thought I couldn't stand staying up for so long. I toured the house immediately after I arrived home. The bathrooms are so big. I think I shall leave those in a different post. =) Lots to say too.

p/s Check out cerebral palsy lawyers. You will never know if you need them. Interesting though, I think Veep wanted to become a lawyer. Maybe she can consider the type of lawyers she wanted to be? Hehe..

Houses

Yesterday, Cal and I drove around, looking at houses. There's one street that has super modern brick houses. It's so nice and definitely one of my dream houses. I bet they have more than 2 carports. I am sure everyone's dream house will be a big modern house. But you have to think, in reality, of what you can afford when you are buying houses. =) Then, there's apartments or townhouse kinds. We agreed that we can stay in one of those houses and only moving into a house when you have more than 2 kids. Ok, now I realise that's too far into the future and I will stop babbling.

I also wanted to comment on friendship. I think it is hard to keep a good friendship. You always think what you can do for the best but it always ended up in you being hurt. Sigh.. I have this friend whom I thought is really smart in looking out but now, I don't think so. Sigh.. what can we do? After all, we are humans and we are bound to make mistakes.
