To continue studying or not
Right.. if you say you study master, I will go wow.. but if you say you study master of [insert here], my face expression will change drastically. It depends on what you study. If you say engineering, of course I will go triple wow. For me, I think it is a hard subject and to study it, you will need to be very smart. If you say Masters in organizational leadership, then I will probably double wow. I think there is a difference. But getting this masters, will get you into most jobs because most jobs require employees to lead their teams. So I should really triple wow as well. Hehehe.. So really, studying masters is actually good for getting a better job. That is what I think so.

Weather sunny
The weather nowadays are very sunny. It's the spring season now. Flowers should be blooming everywhere. I suggested to darling that we should have picnic during one of the sunny weekend. I kept saying but I am not sure when the day time will come. Afterall, I am sort of preparing for finals. Darling is going to take up some course.
Yesterday we made chocolate fudge in lab. It was an example of how magma flows on Earth's surface. Kinda cool to make it during lab. Somemore, it smells so nice and I was so tempted to steal the chocolate and put in my mouth.
Know what.. I was browsing the flyers the other day and find that exercise equipment are getting cheaper. Well, I checked one from the warehouse and it was quite cheap. But there were no space in the house to put any. Sigh.. then, I recall seeing a gym still with the lights on at 10 sth pm last week. If it's open 24 hours, it would be so good. I mean, some people don't even have the time to rush to gym after work. They can just come home eat dinner and only go to gym at 10pm to exercise. No rush too.

No colourful photos
I was in the bus when I thought, I always have the luxury of sitting in the car to everywhere. Well, not exactly but at least it was most of the time. I am lucky when it comes to this. I mean, some people might have to take the bus during the whole of their university life. How about whole life? Well, I have not met anyone who takes the bus everywhere their whole life. I don't mean in really big cities like London. That one, you definitely don't need a car. I think the transport system is good enough. But here in Christchurch, I don't think so. I am rambling again.
Friday night, it was a friend's birthday so we had dinner at some posh Chinese restaurant. Dishes was ok though one dish is full of chilli and I can't even see chicken. Dish was called hot and spicy chicken. It was really nice to catch up with them. It feels like yesterday that we hung out so much and talk so much. But in reality, it has been almost 10 months. Oh and it's the second anniversary of mosaic this week and we are going. I think it was expected to be big but I'm not so sure. Well, let's see. I shall update about it.
There were more clean up of the garage and the living room this weekend too. And I made my waffles for brunch. Hehe.. it was alright but I don't like the whole-wheat flour that I put in. I think I would prefer white flour. I watched Ugly Truth and Orphan last night. Ugly Truth was just typical romantic movie that you predict the main actress and actor to be together in the end. Orphan was different. It was quite slow torturing thriller. I shall not say anything about the story in case any of you want to watch. That kind of disorder really do exist in the real world.

Commitment
I have been helping out ICF in being the secretary for almost a year. Last year when the AGM (known as Annual Group Meeting, I think) was held to select new exec members, I thought I stay on and continue since I will be quite free.
But things happen. I was told to actually let go of the postion or to help less so I can concentrate more on my studies. I hesitated to let go because I thought adding this position of one year into CV could mean something. But friends and cousin commented that different people got different commitment.
'You're not helping/doing anything to ICF, that doesn't mean you are not serving the Lord.' 'You can just help a little bit but just not too much.' 'You should let the new members take over, otherwise new people cannot take on the job.'
I had a thought about it. There are 2 other 'older' members in the exec group. So they will have help. And I don't have to pull out entirely. I can still help whenever I want to, right?
Now here comes the part where I aso hesitate. I commented that I don't want to NOT help because I am scared that people will talk about it.
'Oh she pull out just like that when she promised that she will be in the committee for the following year.'
Yea, that was what I am afraid of. But I was told that it happens in clubs where people took on a position, two weeks or more later, they quit the position.
That makes me feel a bit better though. So, I think I shall take on less work done, yea? I am convincing myself huh.. I have ICF meeting later so I shall tell them.

Anew
Starting anew for the semester and the year.
So what was my resolution for my summer? I don't think I achieve doing anything. Even useful things. So much for saying time is precious. I always said time is precious because I don't believe in wasting every second doing non-useful things. At least, it's for myself. I am not saying for others.
I shall recall a bit of what I did here.
- help out mum baking (a little bit in making paus)
- doing dishes for those that cannot go in the dishwasher
- sweep the floor on the ground floor
Hmm.. I shall have a summary of the two-month holiday post up soon. =)
I think I am jetlagged. I slept early and woke up at 4am. I have to push my sleeping time tonight. I shall do it slowly.
Oh yea, I know this might sound weird but it might explain why I seem weird at times. My mum, sherp and I had a conversation on talking to yourself. I said why I do that is because in the first year when I stayed by myself, I have no one to talk to. Usually at home, I would talk to family members on everything. This might explain why I don't like silence.
Well, no one ask me to shut up at home so I talk all the time. Even small matters. Anyway, talking a lot at home explains why I am talking to myself. When you're flatting or staying by yourself, you got no one to talk to you so you just say it out loud. It's like talking to yourself, right?
Mum just laughed at me when I explained.

Something to look forward
Finally I finished reading the Marian Keyes story book on Sushi for Beginners. It took me so long to finish reading because I found some parts boring. I continued reading even though it was boring. I have no excuse to stop. I also started reading the newspaper too. I think I should keep up reading story books or newspaper when I am back though it takes me longer to finish.
I was told that if it wasn't for my grammatical mistakes and some vocabs, I would have superb written English and spoken. I agree with that and I do admit that my grammatical mistakes make my blogging skills terrible and most probably readers don't want to read badly written English. Am I right?
I also think that I shall keep up going to gym and run on threadmill when I am back. I won't get that tired easily when I go for my field trip. I also made another goal for myself, that is to take lots of scenery pictures when I go field trip. I shall put it up here to share with my readers.
So, that makes life go on and something to look forward to.

Define
I have the idea of a friend go behind another friend back to steal boyfriend. Or it could be doing something bad, as in something embarrassing and of bad rumours, not about bitching but I mean, rumours of you stealing a guy or something like that.
So what is your opinions?

Oops
- Friends should support each other. This doesn't mean that Friend A should ditch Friend B for Friend C. I mean, if Friend C did not do anything to Friend A, why should Friend A ditch Friend C.
- Listen to friends. LISTEN. It is best to listen to positive feedback and ignore if it is negative feedback.
- Friendships are very important and they are always by your side. So we should appreciate them. What happens if you got no friends at all?
From what I have said so far, I know it is hard to fulfill them so we should always forgive our friends if they did something wrong or bad. Who is perfect anyway? You are not, I am not, your friends are not.
What I mean
- sacrificial love
From 1 Samuel in the Bible, it is the friendship from Jonathan and David. Jonathan's dad tried to kill David and Jonathan was almost killed because he was protecting David from his father.
I was thinking, in this kind of world now, no one would do that kind of thing because it is not the norm. People would think you are crazy and start thinking if gay or lesbian. *shakes head* Such a world.
From my point of view, friendships nowadays are just friends hanging out and helping each other out. I bet there is no such thing as sacrificial love between friends. I mean, if I ask you to die for your friend or friends, would you want to do that?
On this, I still want to comment about what I wrote. A friend disagrees with what I said. Well, what I meant was that some people take their friend for granted, which is why I said friendships nowadays are just friends hanging out and helping each other. You can never know if this friend is truly your friend. What happens when he or she turns out to be different, as in not whom you used to know.

On friendship
I am going to summarize what I hear and learnt from friendship from church camp and reading relationship book on friendship. First of all, there is this model of friendship list.
- mutual commitment
I think this is common. Friends do commit to each other.
- openness and honesty
Honesty is a hallmark of real friendship. Friends do not pretend about themselves or others do not desire or need to cover up their struggles or failings. -Nigel D. Polluck-
You do have to be open and honest to your friends. If you are not sure if you can trust the friends you are with, don't open too much. But be honest because they won't like you and you can lose their trust in you if you happen to lie or do something bad to them or even one of them.
- service
Service? What do you mean by that? Well, I think it is more like you do things for your friends. I do believe that. Now compare with what you usually do for your siblings or parents. I think it is similar.
There are ways to show your love for your family and friends. You help them out on things, eg buying things for them or just helping out on chores. Anyway, my point is that if you yell at your siblings or parents or disobey them, that doesn't mean you don't love your family or siblings. =)
- God - centreness
- interdependence
Friendship is not about making people dependent upon us or about us becoming dependent on other people.
True friendship can only develop and grow when we work together, trust each other, help each other and rely on each other.
With true friends pointing out your weakness or something bad, I don't think you should keep it at heart and decide that he or she is not a good friend. Instead, you should look at yourself first and try to undo your weakness. Yes, you are not perfect and your friends are not perfect but it would help to study yourself first before start blaming on friends. Not all friends give good advice but some particularly do. Some friends are there to listen to you and give you a long big hug when you are down.
I do admit that I don't like my friends to see me crying if there is anything so I tend to go away or be quiet if I see my friends crying. So don't take it to heart, thinking that your friends desert you when you need someone to talk while you're crying.
- willing to let go
Friendship is so important and sometimes there are things that we need to let go in order to let the friendship to last. 1 Samuel 20:42 shows that.
Am I being too straight-forward? Hmm.. this is just my point of view. I will let you have your opinions, I won't judge or be defensive. I am beginning to refer to Bible verses a lot. =)
This is from church camp talks and I summarized it up. Some may be the same from what I said above.
- Friends do point out your mistakes or your differences. But how do you feel from it? Embarrassed or anger? If embarrassed, would you rather strangers telling you those or your friends? If anger, study yourself first before you start blaming your friends. Humans aren't perfect so your friends are there to tell you your differences. Again, would you rather strangers telling you?
I think I prefer my friends to tell me. I rather them laughing at me than strangers or friends whom I don't normally talk to.
- Friends don't just give advices or comfort you, they go through each step with you. They are there to guide you so don't keep them away. Remember that some friends deal with their problems better than you.

Reasons
Anyway, I am not supposed to complain about being away for so long. Yes, it is fun to get away from everything and just enjoy doing something else and not worrying about study.
I got few comments about the things I learnt from the conference. Some were arguing about my opinions or is it questioning. Well, it is good to voice out your opinions but I won't change my mind just because of what you said. To be honest, I had fears before attending the conference. Now, I decide to let God decide for me. If He thinks that I will get married, then I will. If not, then no.
I say this as a concession, not as a command. I wish that all men were as I am. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that. Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
I am not sure what verse I got it from but it's from 1 Corinthians 5:7. The verse really makes me think a lot. Sorry lah I don't want to share my thoughts on this because you would just argue more. So I am keeping my reasons to myself.

What?
Do I not go online that often?
It's the timezone difference, I would say.
I was doing assignments. I don't like to be disturbed when I am really concentrating really hard.
But, really, do I not go online that often?
I was just appearing offline though.
