Light things up

On first night of CNY, our attempt of playing 'bunga api' was just random shapes. The thingy takes  approximately about 3 minutes. Pay so much for it and it finishes in minutes.

Our second attempt: The camerawomen got ready before all of us started to fire up. I think we only manage to take 2 pictures per one light. It's great that we manage to make few shapes out of the sparklers eh? Sherp decided to call it sparklers since we do not know what is the English word for it.

I actually don't know how to say 'bunga api' in English. Any help? I am lazy to find out on the internet. Hehe..

CNY continued

First day of CNY. Usually, people go out 'bai nian', meaning they go out visiting houses. What is the main purpose of this visiting? Well, you can think that people are being friendly and wants to be social. When I was younger, it's the excitement of getting 'hong baos'. As I got older, it's the excitement of the food. I got to eat those yummy food that they put out on the coffee table in the living room. Oh right, it's called snacks. How about now? It's the excitement of gatherings with the people I loved. =) Sounds chessy huh?

Since there weren't a lot of people to visit here in Doha, I stayed in my pjyamas the whole day. Even when the Aunt Mary and Pyro came by for lunch. Haha..

I think 'bai nian' ends on the fifteen day.

I bet everyone has CNY eve dinner night with families right? I mean if you are with your family. I don't mean to offend those who don't have their family by their side now.

We have one less person as Sherp took the photo. Dinner was alright.

The mall was busy with people walking about, some window shopping and some doing real shopping. But it was quite quiet in the morning when I went though. The business hours here usually starts from 10am to 1pm and starts again from 4pm to 10pm. It's different compared to business hours in Malaysia and NZ.

I shall stop babbling here and get back to food.

Chinese New Year

Staying overseas and not feeling the CNY mood? Well, here's how my mum decide to lighten everyone's mood. She has this CNY songs on almost everyday and has the decorations in the living room.

You should do the same, I am sure you will have the CNY mood. =) It makes you look forward to tomorrow.

Look at this oven. It's so big. I think Gloria would have fun baking cookies if she is here. Hahaha..

We also played Jim Rummy. I think that is how you spell it. It was fun playing and learning. See the coach? He's teaching. Hehehe..

Chinese New Year

I just feel like saying this. Sometimes watching the download percentage increasing is fun. Hahaha.. maybe it's just that I feel bored at times. Hahaha..

I went on facebook, wishing almost everyone Happy Chinese New Year. I have nothing better to do huh?

Check out the treadmill. I don't know if the small screen there is a tv or not. It would be better if there is a tv there. You can kill two birds with one stone. Or if you happen to have treadmill at home, you can put it in front of the tv. Wow.. I would definitely want to have that. Just a few days ago, I went to the shopping centre with family and was looking around. I saw the treadmill prices. It was really expensive (in my terms) but I guess it would be useful you are going to use it often and you will get fit as well. =) Oh yea, I improved myself, I ran 2km under 15 minutes. Accomplishment for myself. Hehe..

Events coming up

This photo below is supposed to be belated. Those people were caroling. =) It was fun just watching them singing for us. That's cool huh? I actually haven't experience caroling, let alone watching them. Well, at least none that I can remember of.

Sisters and I were mucking around cam-whoring and I made a face. What a weird face huh? =P

Chinese New Year is coming up. We talked about how we used to buy new clothes and that makes us usually look forward. Now? I don't think I am anymore. Visiting people or relatives' houses are fun too. Well, the eating part was fun, I got to eat those CNY food and have soft drinks. Soft drinks was like a luxury for me when I was younger. I wasn't allowed to drink soft drinks once a week let alone daily. Now? Drinking soft drinks are not that exciting for me or for us.

Chinese New Year

I forgot to blog about the celebration of Chinese New Year. I should have done it earlier but considering the lazy me, I normally leave it till I am feeling bored. Anyway, here goes.

On the night of Chinese New Year eve, we had a dinner reunion with cousins and cousins' friends. For once, I do feel the Chinese New Year mood. With the cousins running around and I can practically hear people talking loudly in the living room. I know this can't be compared to having the whole cousins clan but at least lynnwei and JY koko were here.

JY koko and his friend just left for Brunei this morning. I manage to get up early to wish them goodbyes. Before they left, I said see you in July. Yes! I am going back soon. I can't wait. :P Anyway, back to the topic.

Photo above shows some of the cousin clans and the dinner table. I felt really bloated after the dinner and I was just about to feel even more CNY mood when lynnwei left to go to Paris. Sigh.. I still wish she's here and JY koko too. In a week's time, I will also be leaving to go back to NZ. Sigh..

Well, it is good in a way to put everything back to studies once again. My flatmate and I won't be moving into the homestay house we were supposed to stay in this year after all. They just bought a house which I assume is very far from university. Right, back to the CNY topic.

On the weekend, my parents and I decided to go to Chinatown in Leicester Square. Apparently they had CNY celebration. Excuse me for typing Chinese New Year as short form. It's too long to type.

There were so many people, making the place so crowded till I cannot breathe properly. I have to constantly hold my parent's hand so I don't get lost or lost sight of them both. Below is the photo of the fireworks at the centre of a park, in front of Empire Cinema. It is a nice view, right?

Wee!!

Woke up at 8am and got ready for breakfast before we headed out to the tube station, Ealing Broadway. And guess what? We were stuck in the train for an hour, reaching Tate Modern about 11.30am. We walked from Waterloo Station, it was quite far. Mum was saying how come the road leading there doesn't look very nice. Yea, cos we walked 'behind' the Tate (it just means that we did not walk along the river, in front of the building, see the photo below).

Before going in, took a photo at the entrance, showing that we did go to Tate Modern.

There are slides from level 3, 4 and 5 but we didn't go on it. It was fully booked that day. So, we went on the second level slide. I thought it wasn't high enough. Hehe! I was even thinking of going for the level 5 slide. Obviously, when I went down the slide, I got this sudden feeling of being thrown from a high place so I think I went, 'Hu...' all the way down the slide. I couldn't stop laughing at myself after I reached the ground. It was funny to see me going 'Hu...' after all I am 19 already. I can hear Ivy going 'Ah....'. Sherlene said she was scared. Hahaha..

This is the Millenium Bridge in front of Tate Modern. We walked over the bridge to go to the nearest tube station, Mansion Station. And to think, we stopped in Waterloo Station which was quite far, I think. Sigh..

We went to Leicester Square for lunch. This is the London Chinatown. It is nice to see those Chinese New Year stuff around but we didn't hear any CNY music on. They should have those music on so you have the mood on. Hmm...

By the way, this is supposed to be on Friday, I did not change to UK timezone. It is NZ timezone. I think I would have to mention this every time.
