On Thursday, all of the Year 13 came to school in mufti (means that u don't have to wear uniform, just wear casual). There are about 6 classes of Year 13. 3 of the classes were to go for outdoor activities whereas 3 other classes were to spend the day in school, learning new stuff.
My class were one of the 3 that had to stay in school. We learnt to self defence ourselves, the movements that were to protect ourselves when someone attacks us teenage girls. We also had 2 speakers from former students, telling us about 'after Year 13 studies'. They have gap year which you could go to France to do it. It is like you have a year off to decide what you are going to study in University. Another speaker told us about her life after she quits Form 3. The amazing thing is that she never gives up. She said that Sacred Heart College taught her never to give up. She said she did not have any qualifications or anything else. Just nothing. She went to a village to work. There were some interesting stories she told us. I kind of forgot what she says exactly. I just summarise up the point. In short, she worked hard all those years and now, she has a higher position than her mum and they are working in the same office, same building and same career area. It is just amazing how she survived in the outside world without her parents help.
