Updates

One week on after earthquake, most of the businesses are opened. Some old buildings are demolished as it is not structure safe. No building is safe from earthquake anyway.

Last week Wednesday aftershock was quite strong. It occurred in Christchurch at a shallow level even though it was recorded on the Ritcher scale.

Hmm... readers must be getting bored of me explaining these stuff. But I am genuinely interested in why the earthquake occurred and what is it underneath after one of the lecturer geologist said mud has been coming out of Earth.

That is why I studied Geology. =)

So, anyway the updates are most schools are opening next week. Universities are opening the week after. Some roads in city are still closed due to the rubbles.

Kaiapoi is quite damaged but I haven't heard of anything besides residents having to move away from their home. Just check out thepress.co.nz for more info.

Oh another thing is some Christchurch residents are getting away from the aftershocks because they couldn't sleep properly. I am sure they will want to relax in a jacuzzi somewhere away from the aftershocks since they are losing sleep.
