of hope and love

This post is for Lynn Xuan. I saw an article from a newspaper, Daily Mail on Saturday, January 19 about How Protein keep the lids on hunger. Basically, what it mentioned is that, foods such as steak, bacon and eggs and fish cut levels of a hormone that simulates appetite. When the amount of ghrelin in the body falls, we start to feel full and eat less. But tucking into carbohydrates can have the opposite effect, says researchers.

Why I want to mention this to Lynn Xuan, she worries about her weight and I saw how some of her posts were full of weight problems and she was trying not to eat. I didn't know how to console her but this time, I am going to tell her, eat protein food but avoid carbohydrates food. Fruits would be good and maybe try not to eat lunch. You can have 2 meals per day, breakfast and dinner. Maybe have dinner at 5pm (my usual dinner is around 6.30-7pm) and have breakfast at 10am. Don't eat if you do get up early in the morning. If you're hungry at night, just go to sleep and don't think about it. And try doing sit ups if you worry about your tummy.

Let me know how it goes. I might try too if I feel like doing it. Right now, I can't be bothered, home-cooked food are just too nice to resist. :) Hope it works.

well...i eat when i'm hungry...cannot starve myself! aha...

Another school of thoughts is that eat more frequently in smaller portions to kick up the metabolism. If you eat less meals, the body is starving and at the starvation signal, it turns off energy usage so your metabolism drops. This is what I usually read from mags like Cleo.

some people have 8 meals a day and yet they still lose weight. it would be better to have a bit of everything rather than to have nothing at all.

cut down on carbs, sugar and salt. that'll do. =)

lynnwei: Yea, the other night, I saw an ad about choc chip cookie, i felt like eating, mum told me that we have and ask me to go get it. Then, I said, I am not to snacks otherwise I will get fat. In the end, I ate cos I cannot resist.

lynnx01: Oh.. ok.. sometimes i find no time to eat in between classes and end up only eating at 3pm as my breakfast + lunch. Hehe..

Ally: True true, then should stay away from carbs, sugar and salt. Oh btw, what is carbs? Is it snacks?

i eat cake and drink coffee. krispy kreme is also good as well as egg tarts. i eat no proper meals.. yet i lose weight.
the diet u mentioned is the aitkins diet. ppl lose weight but they feel horrible. i would just eat balanced, healthy meals.. but then im one to talk.. :)
