Field Trip

Today, I went on the field trip for Geol 111. I was to follow the 8.30am bus to Lyttelton mountain area. Farhana and fish were with me on that bus. There were 2 buses on Saturday and 2 more buses for Sunday (tomorrow). I chose to go on Saturday. Anyway, our main thing on the trip is studying rocks. Ok.. I know it's boring studying rocks but I do find the rocks pretty. :)

This is Lyttelton mountain view. Apparently, it is a dominant volcano. We study the rocks around the mountain and the structure of the mountain. eg dikes around the mountain, basalt... etc... we also found crystal in those rocks. Some of the rocks are colourful.

We were divided into 2 groups but Farhana, fish and I were still in the same group. Phew.. :P

These are the students walking over to the rocks to study them. It was really hot that day. So, you know why fish keep having the folder to cover his head. Why didn't you bring your hat, fish? Hmm....

This is the another mountain view from the bus, on our way to another stop to study rocks again. We had to walk at some point up the hill and it was really tiring and HOT. I was longing to shower and go back when they told us there is a another stop to go.
